JV Firebirds: Week 3 Recap and Week 4 Preview

The JV Firebirds came up short this week against the Arizona College Prep Knights. On Tues March 31 they lost at home 4-6. Junior Caden Carey (4 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 3 K) started on the mound and was relieved by sophomore Tyler Welling (2.2 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 1 K). At the plate, sophomore Quinn Burggraf (2-3) and junior Ryland Monardo (2-3) led the Birds with 2 singles each. On Thurs, April 2 they fell 2-6 despite collecting 6 hits, including doubles from juniors Andres Sanchez (1-3) and Ryland Monardo (1-3, RBI), a double from freshman Colson Good (2-3, RBI) and a triple from freshman Keegan Hodges (1-1, 1 R). The Firebirds were led on the mound by sophomores Andrew Nishida-Grimm (3.2 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K) and Rory Stallone (2.1 IP, 2 H, 1 K). Next week, the JV Firebirds face off against the Desert Mountain Wolves away on Mon April 6 at 3:45 pm and then home on Wed April 8 at 3:45 pm. They end the week away at the Notre Dame Prep Saints on Fri April 10 at 6:00 pm. Come cheer on the JV Birds!
