Troy Gerlach is the head baseball coach at Chaparral High School, where he has led the Firebirds program since 2019. Known for his high standards, strong leadership, and commitment to player development, Gerlach has helped build a culture focused on discipline, accountability, and team success. Under his leadership, Chaparral baseball continues to emphasize fundamentals, competitiveness, and preparing student-athletes to compete at the next level. Prior to Chaparral, Gerlach served seven seasons as the head coach at Arcadia High School. During his tenure, he compiled a 110–84 overall record and guided the Titans to four appearances in the state tournament. His time at Arcadia helped establish him as one of Arizona’s respected high school coaches and laid the foundation for continued success in the state’s competitive baseball landscape. Gerlach has also contributed on the national stage with USA Baseball. He served as an assistant coach for the 2018 15U National Team that won the WBSC U 15 Baseball World Cup gold medal and was part of the coaching staff for the 2022 12U National Team that also captured gold. In 2023, Gerlach was selected to manage the 12U National Team at the international level, reflecting his reputation as a trusted developer of young talent. Throughout his career, Gerlach has been recognized for his ability to develop players both on and off the field. With experience ranging from high school programs to international competition through USA Baseball, he remains dedicated to teaching the game the right way and helping student-athletes grow as competitors, teammates, and leaders.
